Buzz Notes:

N17's happy hour offers a relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and a menu that makes it easy to unwind after a long day. The standout item during my visit was the Shoyu Chicken Wings, they were flavorful, perfectly cooked, and exactly the kind of snack you hope to find on a happy hour menu. One of the best ideas on the menu is the pairing option, which combines a meal with a house beer or wine for a set price. It's a thoughtful concept that simplifies ordering and encourages guests to settle in and enjoy the experience without overthinking their selections. The service was another highlight. Staff members were kind, responsive, and attentive throughout the visit, helping create a welcoming environment that made the experience enjoyable. The only reason this isn't a five-star review is that the pricing doesn't quite feel aligned with the incentive-driven spirit of happy hour. While the offerings are good, the discounts don't feel substantial enough to make happy hour stand out from regular dining hours. That said, N17 is still worth a visit, and not just for happy hour. Their ‘Dad's Char Siu Banh Mi Sandwich’ is absolutely worth ordering any time of day. The slow-roasted char siu pork, pickled vegetables, cilantro, mayo, and jalapeño on a crispy baguette come together beautifully, delivering a satisfying balance of savory, tangy, fresh, and spicy flavors. Overall, N17 delivers quality food, excellent service, and a creative happy hour concept. With slightly more compelling happy hour pricing, it would be an easy five-star destination.

Buzz Notes:

Stopped by for happy hour and had a mixed experience. The atmosphere is definitely one of the highlights, it's stylish, immersive, and feels like the kind of place designed for lingering over drinks with friends after work. On the food side, the Mochiko Chicken Nuggets were a standout. Crispy, flavorful, and paired well with the Japanese BBQ and kewpie sauces. The Hamachi Scallion Roll was also fresh and satisfying, with a nice kick from the serrano and a bright ponzu finish. For drinks, I tried the Maui Waui Slushie and the Soul Surfer. Both were pleasant enough and leaned heavily into fruity flavors, but neither was particularly memorable. The slushie was refreshing but packed with ice, and the Soul Surfer was light and easy to drink, though it felt a little diluted. They looked great and fit the tropical vibe, but I was hoping for a bit more depth and balance. Service was kind and welcoming throughout the visit. That said, it wasn't quite as attentive as I expected given the price point and the polished, high-end environment. A few empty glasses and finished plates lingered a bit. Overall, it's a fun spot with a beautiful atmosphere and some tasty bites, but the drinks and service didn't fully live up to the premium experience the setting suggests.
